ATTR TO MINAS AVETISYAN ARMENIAN LANDSCAPE PAINTING - Oil on canvas landscape depicting the snow-capped peaks of Mount Ararat rising above a lush green valley with a flowing river and trees. The work bears a signature in Cyrillic ”Minas” and is dated ”68” (1968) in the lower right corner. The verso features a typed paper label reading ”Artist Minas Avetisyan / Address Armenia, USSR / Title Ararat”. Minas Avetisyan (1928–1975) was a leading figure in the Armenian National School of painting, though this work is executed in a more traditional realism than his characteristic Fauvist style.
