ANDREI EGOROV RUSSIAN WINTER LANDSCAPE PAINTING - Andrei Egorov (Russian, 1878–1954). Tempera painting on cardboard. The artwork depicts a winter landscape featuring two horses drawing sleighs through the snow-covered scenery. Dated ca. 1920s. Signed ”A. Jegorow” lower right. Framed. Provenance: Gene Shapiro Auctions, 2010. Andrei Egorov was a Russian painter and graphic artist. He studied under Ilya Repin and Dmitry Kardovsky. He lived in Saint Petersburg until 1921, and then emigrated to Tallinn. In 1948, Egorov received the title of the Honored Artist of Estonia.
