NATTA KONYSHEVA RUSSIAN SOVIET ERA BIRTHDAY PARTY PAINTING - Painted in 1994 by renowned Nonconformist artist Natta Konysheva (Russian, 1935–2022), this expressive oil on canvas titled Birthday Party exemplifies her signature ”Moscow Strange” style. The composition is a dense, chaotic narrative of bohemians gathering in a cramped interior, featuring a central figure with a guitar surrounded by revelers, surreal details, and floating faces. Signed and dated in red on the front, the verso bears Cyrillic inscriptions identifying the artist and title ”День рождения” (Birthday).
