ATTR S SHCHEDRIN RUSSIAN ITALIAN LANDSCAPE OIL PAINTING - This oil on canvas painting, laid on board, is attributed to Russian landscape painter Sylvester Shchedrin (1791–1830) and depicts a serene Italian coastal scene illuminated by a warm, setting sun. The composition features fishermen and figures gathered on the rocky shore in the foreground, with a prominent stone tower, calm waters, and anchored sailing vessels extending into the background. The artwork is housed in a heavily ornamented, antique gilt frame bearing a nameplate inscribed with the artist's name in Cyrillic, С Щедринъ, and retains an older inventory label on the reverse. Sylvester Shchedrin studied at the Imperial Academy of Arts in St. Petersburg under Fyodor Alekseyev and Thomas de Thomon.
