Harriet Logan is a photojournalist who has worked on world-wide assignments for international newspapers and magazines including stories in Somalia, Sudan, the former Yugoslavia, Chechenya, Kosovo, Mongolia, Iran, Kashmir, Angola, India and America. In 1992, she received the Ian Parry Award from The Sunday Times and Nikon. Logan visited Afghanistan twice, once in 1997 and then in December 2001, after the Taliban’s defeat; during her journey, she reflected on the changes of Afghanistan by capturing the images of the women in the region. From her powerful portraits of women which reveal a world of sorrow, pain, desperation, and ultimately glimmers of hope – are the proof of the transformation of the chaotic region.
