REVA URBAN AMERICAN MIXED MEDIA PAINTING SHOPPING CART - Reva Urban (American, 1925–1987). Oil painting on shaped canvas with elements of assemblage. Titled 'Shopping Cart'. Signed and dated 1964 to the right and on the backside. Grippi & Waddel Gallery labels on the backside. Reva Urban studied at the Art Students League in New York on a Carnegie scholarship. From 1958 she exhibited her works nationally and internationally. In 1964, her works were shown at documenta III in Kassel (1964). Urban created many paintings and abstract mixed compositions of oil painting on layered wooden discs. Her paintings were colorful and later also turned to a new figurativeness in the style of pop art.
