LARGE SINO-TIBETAN PAINTED THANGKA MOUNTED ON BOARD - A large and vibrantly colored Sino-Tibetan thangka, executed in distemper on cloth. The central composition features a prominent seated Lama or Bodhisattva wearing flowing orange and red monastic robes and a green halo, holding an alms bowl. The central figure is surrounded by a complex pantheon of secondary deities, monks, and protective figures set amidst a stylized landscape of rolling green mountains and scrolling clouds. The top center features a seated blue primordial Buddha figure. The painted surface exhibits overall craquelure, creasing, and minor pigment loss. Sold as-is.
