1896 RUSSIAN IMPERIAL SILVER NICHOLAS II CORONATION CROSS - An authentic antique Imperial Russian 84 standard silver priest's pectoral cross (napersny krest) and chain, issued to commemorate the coronation of Tsar Nicholas II. The obverse features a traditional eight-pointed Orthodox crucifix in relief with the skull of Adam at the base (Golgotha). The reverse is historically inscribed with the crowned Imperial cypher of Nicholas II, the coronation date ”1896 14 Мая” (May 14, 1896), and a Church Slavonic quote from 1 Timothy 4:12 (”Be an example to the believers in word, in conduct, in love, in spirit, in faith, in purity”). The cross is suspended from its traditional, heavy flat-link silver priest's chain.
