LARGE KPM PORCELAIN PLAQUE AFTER BOUGUEREAU SIGNED F. TOMH - A magnificent and large-scale late 19th-century KPM Berlin porcelain plaque. The hand-painted scene, after William-Adolphe Bouguereau's 1890 masterpiece ”L'Amour et Psyché, enfants, ” depicts the young Cupid and Psyche in a tender embrace amidst a cloud-filled sky. Signed lower left by the artist, ”F. Tomh.” The reverse bears the impressed scepter and KPM marks. Housed in its original, highly ornate gilded gesso and wood frame.
