GARDNER IMPERIAL RUSSIAN PORCELAIN CUP PETER THE GREAT - An Imperial Russian porcelain handled cup with lid. Dated ca. 1900s. The piece is decorated with a polychrome transfer-printed portrait of the Emperor Peter the Great against the blue background, encompassed with foliage. Inscription in Russian: 'In Memory of the 200th Anniversary of the Founding of St. Petersburg, 1703–1903'. Gilded rims. Figurative finial on top of the lid. Marked with a red overglaze hallmark on the bottom. Gardner was the first Russian private porcelain manufacture, established in the 18th century.
