PAIR CHINESE EXPORT PORCELAIN PLATES RUSSIAN IMPERIAL ARMS - A rare and highly collectible pair of Chinese Export porcelain armorial plates, produced for the Imperial Russian market during the Qing Dynasty (late 18th to early 19th century). Each plate is centered with a finely hand-painted Imperial Russian double-headed eagle holding the orb and scepter beneath three crowns. The eagle's breast bears a shield depicting St. George slaying the dragon—charmingly rendered by the Chinese artisan with distinctively Eastern features and attire. The central armorial is framed by an inner gilt spearhead border and an outer iron-red and gilt scalloped rim.
