SCHOELCHER FRENCH PORCELAIN BOWLS AND PLATES SET - A set of antique French porcelain dinner plates and serving bowls by Schoelcher. Dated 19th century. A total of 6 plates, a footed bowl, and a two-tier fruit bowl. With a gilt rim and rich crimson colors, the central part is hand-painted with images of flower bouquets. The plates are stamped ”Scholcher a Paris” on the bottom. Marc Schoelcher (1766–1832) established a business as a porcelain merchant in 1798 in the faubourg Saint-Denis in Paris where he became well-known for his coloured grounds and unusual forms.
