FEDOR RUCKERT IMPERIAL RUSSIAN SILVER ENAMEL MATCH SAFE - An exquisite antique Imperial Russian 84 standard silver-gilt and polychrome cloisonné enamel vesta case (match safe) by the legendary master enameler Fedor Rückert. Crafted in Moscow between 1899 and 1908, the rectangular hinged case features a ribbed match striker on its base. The body is profusely decorated with masterful, finely shaded pink, green, and blue floral and foliate scrollwork against a cream ground, all framed by striking cobalt blue borders with intricate geometric wirework. The interior retains a brilliant gold wash. The inner rim is crisply hallmarked with the Cyrillic maker's mark ”ФР” (F.R. for Fedor Rückert), alongside the 84 zolotnik purity mark and the left-facing kokoshnik assay mark. fedor ruckert, imperial russian enamel, faberge workmaster, silver vesta case, cloisonne match safe, antique moscow silver. The shaded cloisonné enamel is beautifully preserved with no obvious losses, chips, or restorations. The hinge is tight and functions smoothly. The interior retains a vibrant, rich gold wash (vermeil). The ribbed striking surface on the bottom shows minor, expected age wear.
