BRIL & GERSHMAN RUSSIAN IMPERIAL SILVER CAVIAR BOWL - A striking antique Imperial Russian 84 standard silver and cut-glass caviar dish by the Kiev firm of Bril & Gershman. Dating to the late Imperial period (1908–1917), the piece exhibits strong Secessionist and early Art Deco design influences. The silver base features a pierced geometric motif and distinctive, angular openwork handles. It houses a removable, heavy cut-glass liner with a faceted starburst base and a scalloped rim. The dish is surmounted by a domed silver cover topped with an acorn-form finial. The underside of the base is fully hallmarked with the firm's circular stamp ”БРИЛЬ И ГЕРШМАНЪ” (Bril and Gershman), the pattern number ”850”, and the 84 zolotnik right-facing kokoshnik mark. The silver components display age-appropriate minor surface scratches and tarnishing. The cut glass liner is intact with no major chips or cracks, showing only minor ”flea bites” to the cut edges typical of age and handling. The lid fits securely.
