The large-scale composition features a heavily foreshortened, muscular male figure suspended weightlessly against an expressive, brushed sky-blue ground. The work perfectly encapsulates Tchelitchew's profound obsession with human anatomy, extreme perspective, and spatial tension. Marks: Signed ”P. Tchelitchew” in ink on the reverse. The reverse also bears handwritten estate inventory numbers ”15” and a label reading ”4152 / 38 / 171”. Provenance: Acquired directly from the estate of the artist's sister in France.
