SÈVRES-STYLE EMPIRE GOLD PORCELAIN BEE CUP & SAUCER - A handsome antique French porcelain cup and saucer set executed in the Napoleonic Empire style, circa late 19th/early 20th century. The classic cylindrical cup and deep saucer are decorated with iconic symbols of Emperor Napoleon Bonaparte, including scattered golden bees, laurel wreaths of victory, and a central winged thunderbolt (fulmen). Marks: The underside of both pieces bears an apocryphal, handwritten iron-red script mark, ”Manufacture Imperiale.” sevres style porcelain, napoleon bee cup, french empire porcelain, antique teacup, apocryphal sevres mark. Dimensions Saucer diameter: 4 1/2 in. Cup height: 2 1/4 in. Condition Very Good Antique Condition. Both the cup and saucer are structurally sound with no chips, cracks, or repairs. The white porcelain ground is clean. Exhibits age-appropriate, minor rubbing to the gilded handle, rims, and some high points of the applied gold motifs.
