ANTIQUE MEISSEN PORCELAIN ALLEGORY OF PAINTING FIGURAL GROUP - A charming late 19th/early 20th-century Meissen porcelain figural group depicting an Allegory of Painting (Model 2462). The piece features two winged putti gathered around a wooden-style easel. The seated cherub, draped in an orange patterned cloth, holds a palette and paints a maritime scene. The standing cherub, draped in yellow, holds a rolled drawing. A white classical bust rests on the rococo-scrolled, gilt-highlighted base. Base 6 x 4 1/4 in. Condition Good Antique Condition. The figures are brightly painted and structurally sound overall. However, there is a visible loss to an element held behind the standing putto (a jagged porcelain stump remains). The painting on the easel and the painter's brush appear intact. Typical minor shelf wear to the underside.
