IMPERIAL RUSSIAN 84 SILVER ENGRAVED FLUTE CUP - An exceptional Imperial Russian 84 standard silver flute cup or goblet. The elongated, tulip-shaped bowl is profusely decorated with masterful hand-engraved bright-cut motifs, featuring central floral bouquets framed by elaborate scrolling cartouches, geometric latticework, and a textured stippled background. The bowl sits atop a baluster stem and a splayed, engraved circular foot; the piece ingeniously disassembles into two parts via a threaded post mechanism. The interior features a traditional gold wash (vermeil). Fully hallmarked along the upper exterior rim and on the underside of the base with the Moscow city mark (St. George and the Dragon), the 84 zolotnik silver standard, the assayer mark ”A.K” (Andrey Antonovich Kovalsky) over 1848, and Cyrillic maker's initials ”А.Д”. imperial russian silver, 84 zolotnik, antique silver chalice, engraved silver goblet, moscow silver, vermeil, russian holloware, 19th century antique silver. The threaded mechanism connecting the bowl to the stem is intact and functions smoothly. The interior retains its original gold wash (vermeil) with light wear and fading appropriate for its age. Minor surface scuffs and areas of natural tarnish consistent with 19th-century silver.
