19TH C FRENCH LOUIS XVI STYLE GILT BRONZE VANITY MIRROR - vAn elegant late 19th-century French miniature cheval-style vanity mirror, executed in the Louis XVI taste. The heavy gilt bronze (ormolu) frame features a pivoting central mirror surrounded by a vibrant pink ribbed silk mat. The ornate crest is decorated with twin cherub faces and classical foliage, while the mirror is topped with a tied ribbon bow. The frame is suspended between two column supports adorned with classical caryatid figures, all resting on scrolled feet. Finished with a solid metal backplate.
