DURAND PEACOCK BLUE IRIDESCENT ART GLASS VASE SHAPE 1716 - A vibrant American art glass vase by Victor Durand for the Vineland Flint Glass Works (New Jersey, circa 1924–1931). The vase features a classic form (Shape 1716) with a bulbous lower body rising to a tall, flaring trumpet neck. The glass is finished in a brilliant, highly reflective ”Peacock Blue” iridescence. Marks: The polished pontil on the underside is signed with an aluminum pencil ”Durand” within a ”V” (for Vineland) over the shape and height numbers ”1716 - 12”. durand art glass, american iridescent glass, peacock blue vase, vintage art glass, vineland flint glass, 1920s decorative arts. Dimensions Height 12 in. Condition Good Vintage Condition. The glass is structurally sound with no chips, cracks, or repairs. However, the delicate iridescent surface exhibits significant, visible scratching and scuffing, particularly in ring-like patterns around the middle of the neck and on the shoulder (see photos). The base shows expected shelf wear.
