EDGARDO SIMONE ART DECO PLASTER FIGURINE OF DIANE - Edgardo Simone (Italian-American, 1890–1958). Silvered plaster sculpture of Diana, the Roman goddess of hunters, countryside, and the Moon. Diana is gracefully perched amongst grass, a strung bow in her hand as she leads a hunt. Stamped 'E. Simone Studio U.S. Copyright', signed, and numbered '355-10-4326' on the base. Undated. Edgardo Simone was classically trained at the Beaux Arts Academy in Rome before immigrating to the United States, where he led a fruitful career as a portrait bust sculptor in Hollywood and New York.
