ALEXANDER NEY PIERCED CERAMIC HEAD SCULPTURE, 1990 - A striking, original pierced ceramic sculpture by Russian-American contemporary artist Alexander Ney. Executed in 1990, the abstracted, anthropomorphic head showcases the artist's signature technique of obsessively hand-carving geometric voids into the clay body. The primary form is rendered in unglazed white bisque, contrasted sharply by a pale celadon green application to the bulging eyes and topknot.
