Bidspirit auction | RUSSIAN IMPERIAL 56 GOLD ENAMEL

RUSSIAN IMPERIAL 56 GOLD ENAMEL DIAMOND EGG PENDANT - An exquisite antique Russian Imperial gold and enamel egg pendant, dating to the pivotal 1899-1908 period. The miniature egg charm features a vibrant translucent green enamel applied over a finely engine-turned (guilloché) wavy, wave-like patterned ground. The egg is elegantly bisected by a rose gold band set with a continuous row of small, dark, rough-cut stones (untested, possibly rose-cut diamonds or marcasite). The base of the pendant is accented with a gold collet holding a larger, faceted clear stone. The rose gold suspension ring is clearly stamped with the Russian '56' zolotnik mark indicating 14-karat gold purity, a left-facing Kokoshnik assay mark (confirming the 1899-1908 date range), and the Cyrillic maker's initials 'АН'. This piece exemplifies the superb craftsmanship and popular Fabergé aesthetics of late 19th and early 20th-century Russian jewelry. Russian jewelry, Romanov era, antique charm, guilloche enamel, 14k gold, historical pendant, Fabergé style, 1899-1908 Dimensions Pendant length: 24.5 mm. Weight: 7.7 g. Condition Very good antique condition. The translucent green guilloché enamel is well-preserved with no visible chips or significant losses. The gold suspension ring and mounting remain secure. The small accent stones and the larger bottom stone are present, though untested for identity. The hallmarks on the suspension ring are clear and legible. Normal micro-abrasions to the metal surfaces consistent with age and gentle use.
