Created in 2008 and preserved in the archive of Nikolai Ivanovich Golikov as a study for a sacred composition. A rare late work connected to the iconographic subject of Saints Florus and Laurus, traditionally regarded as protectors of horses. The composition is structured vertically: the upper register features Archangel Michael, while the lower part is occupied by a group of horses forming a dynamic base. This arrangement creates a symbolic connection between the celestial and earthly realms. The saints are rendered in accordance with iconographic tradition, while maintaining the artist’s distinctive expressive line.
