Executed in 1953 by Nikolai Ivanovich Golikov during his studies at the Palekh Art School and preserved in the family for over 70 years. A rare early work demonstrating the artist’s academic foundation. The portrait study reflects a disciplined approach to form, anatomy, and tonal modeling. The structure of the head and shoulders is articulated through precise shading and controlled transitions of light and shadow.
