Condition report: Minor traces of age and handling. Provenance An authentic masterpiece of Golikov’s expressive mature style from the memorial archive of the Golikov family. The work originates directly from the family collection of Nikolai Ivanovich Golikov and was created in 1976 - during the height of the artist’s creative maturity, when his battle compositions achieved their greatest dramatic intensity and plastic power. The miniature box lid was carefully preserved in the artist’s personal archive as a reference example of his heroic and epic imagery and has never previously appeared on the open market. A museum-quality example of Palekh battle miniature painting, demonstrating Golikov’s extraordinary mastery of dynamic composition.
