The upper portion features an expressive skeletal figure with raised arms, constructed through rapidly drawn black lines, fragmented anatomy, and repeated linear marks. To the right, a dominant black head-like silhouette with a single pale eye creates a powerful visual counterpoint to the more intricate drawing and collage passages surrounding it. Layered paper fragments, handwritten words, repeated phrases, anatomical references, symbols, and loosely rendered diagrams are distributed throughout the surface, producing the dense visual rhythm closely associated with Basquiat's early 1980s practice. Areas of brown, black, cream, white, and muted red interrupt the pale background, while scraped and stained passages reinforce the raw, urban character of the composition. The work combines spontaneous drawing with deliberately layered materials, creating a surface that moves continuously between image, language, and abstraction.
