Super rare museum item with a unique and tragic story behind it : A certification document of the pilot Shelan Yehoshua, signed by the hero of Israel Lt. Col. Avi Lanir and the Air Force Commander Mordechai Hod.

The certification document of the pilot Shelan Yehoshua for the "Shahak" plane which is the famous Mirage. Handwritten signatures on the certificate : Lt. Col. Lanir Avi, who was an Israeli pilot and hero who was tortured to death in a Syrian prison, after being captured during the Yom Kippur War. Lanir is being executed because he did not reveal an existential secret of the State of Israel that only he and a few secret accomplices knew about.

Lanir was the commander of Squadron 101, whose insignia appears on the certification document. Another who signed is Air Force Commander Moti Hod, who commanded the Air force in the great victory of the Six Day War until May 1973. Squadron 101 was the Air Force's first fighter aircraft squadron.

Yehoshua Shelan was a young pilot in squadron 101 and was Lanir's number 2 in the sortie in which Lanir was hit on October 13, 1973. Shelan did not stay in the sky above Lanir to make sure he was not captured and returned to the squadron's base in Hazor. For the next day he left the squadron and refused to meet members of the Lanir family to this day. [The description of Shalan is based on the book : Avi Lanir A Short Life Story, page 207-214 - in Hebrew]

Handwritten on the signature paper in red, the squadron emblem on the top left. The scroll of consent was sealed in red wax.

A very rare museum item, which is one of symbols of heroism and tragedy of the Air Force in general and the Yom Kippur War in particular.

Very Good Condition.

Only one copy in the world.

A customer who will buy the item, then he will get the book : Avi Lanir A Short Life Story as a gift.
