Undated, although clearly pre 1982 - when the company ceased operations. History: Anaconda Gold and Silver Mining Company started with the purchase of its namesake silver mine in 1880. With the discovery of copper deposits in 1881, the company expanded dramatically (and changed its name numerous times). It expanded operations to Chile. Mexico, and Poland as well as other North American locations. Anaconda Copper was purchased by Atlantic Richfield Company in 1977 and ceased operations in 1982.
