C & H - Calumet & Hecla Mining Company - 6.3 oz Copper Ingot - Either a souvenir or an advertising paperweight, a 6.3 ounce - roughly 178 gram - copper ingot embossed C & H, the Calumet & Hecla Mining Company. In 1871, several copper mining companies operating in the Calumet Michigan area merged, forming the Calumet and Hecla Mining Company. In 1923, additional mines merged with C & H, the company then becoming Calumet and Hecla Consolidated Copper Company. Universal Oil Products bought Calumet and Hecla in April 1968 and closed the business in 1969.
