Our example follows the original design invented by Cartier in the early 1920s. It’s also a variant of the famous “Steve McQueen” model, worn by the actor in the 1968 movie Thomas Crown Affair. This model is equipped with the manual winding Swiss manufacturer movement FHF 34-21, produced in the mid-1960s. According to scholars it is believed that just a few examples were made and this one is another discovery coming directly from the original owner’s family.
