Zep (Philippe Chappuis dit) *1967 - Zep (Philippe Chappuis dit) *1967 It's not fair… Frozen fish Felt pen and Ecoline liquid watercolor on paper for an illustration intended for the title page of this album published in 1995 by Glénat editions. Signed ”Z”. Annotated ”title drawing volume 4”. 16.3 x 18.3 cm “From the first album, Titeuf had avid fans. They were few in number, but they contributed greatly to his success. The head of derivative rights at Glénat was one of them. He had managed to secure a contract with Hallmark stationery. I had to create dozens of drawings, and I quickly became overwhelmed. The Californian company assigned me a graphic designer, who came to Switzerland once a year to collect many drawings likely to be adapted into cards. This graphic designer, Ivy Hogate Fife, worked with Charles Schulz for Snoopy cards… and for Titeuf! I was very proud. The drawings came back to me by mail with this big sticker. It was the beginning of Titeuf’s international career” (Zep).
