Islam. ENAMEL KRATER with floral motifs and Arabic inscriptions 19th century brass, krater with round shoulder and plain rim. Decorated with curved bows filled with blue / dark blue / red flowers on a white background, with red / green reverse flowers (with three petals) on top of turquoise ”flip flops”. The body is divided into two registers - the main one consists of medallions connected to them by red dots, alternately filled with inscriptions and flowers with six petals. The treatment of ”spandrels” is similar to that of the shoulder. The lower part of the shoulder is almost similar to the shoulder, but for the curved arches that touch each other, thus giving the ”flip flops” a pointed edge. The blue/dark blue flowers only have three petals instead of six, even on a white background. Dimensions: height 19 cm, diameter 20 cm. Source: private collection.
