Silver menorah. St. Petersburg. late 19th century,   A silver menorah of Polish design while Poland and Warsaw were part of the Russian Empire. The special thing about this menorah made in St. Petersburg is that the details of Judaica that were made in this place are mostly unknown. There are three signatures in this menorah. 1. 84. AR in Cyrillic (Russian) letters in the signature of a figure of Caesar with the number 84 (the quality of the silver) 2. A. RIKSTERA (Rikstera) the name of a silver quality inspector who worked as an official inspector between the years 1898 - 1903. 3. The seal of the craftsman Alexander Wasliv Barshevski (written in Cyrillic letters) was known for his works during his relatively long hiatus in St. Petersburg between 1864-1912. The menorah is designed and decorated with embroidery and engraving work, with a crown at the top and plants with a lamp illustration in the center, on the sides a pair of seated lions hidden behind palm trees with birds at their head. Eight canes with the lids (some of the lids are missing you can see in the pictures). On her right is a sun and on her left is an oil jar. good condition 25/18/5 cm. Weight: 459.
