Small Torah scroll, with brass Etz Chaim handles - Ashkenazi Hasidic writing - Southern Poland, early 19th century A Torah scroll, in Ashkenazi Hasidic script. Southern Poland, circa early 19th century. Ink on parchment, 42 lines per page. Scroll on brass Etz Chaim. The writing is according to the method of the great Hasidic scholars in the opinion of the late Ari, and the name of the Hoy is also written according to the method of the Mishnah Hasidim and the Eshel Avraham of Butschach. Height of the parchment: approx. 25 cm. Maximum size including the Etz Chaim: approx. 49 cm. Good-fair condition. Stains. Faded ink slightly tending to brown. Holes with patch repairs made according to Halacha. Scroll on a pair of cast and engraved brass Etz Chaim, broken and damaged upper handles. Presented in an original jacket for the period, made of velvet fabric.
