Decorated shell pouch – ”Remembrance of the Conquest of Jerusalem” – Jerusalem, 1917 Decorated shell pouch. Jerusalem, circa 1917. Engraved brass; chisel work. The pouch is decorated with a repeating pattern of columns, and at the top of each column is a Star of David embedded among decorations in a floral pattern. Above the columns is a belt with the inscription: ”Remembrance of the Conquest of Jerusalem 24th of Kislev 1918”. At the bottom of the pouch are the manufacturer's name – ”Patronenfabrik Karlsruhe”, the year of manufacture, 1916, and an Arabic inscription. Height: 27.7 cm. Good condition.
