Carpet made by ”Marbadia” - Tower of David - Jerusalem, 1920s A carpet decorated with the image of the temple site, made by ”Marbadia” from the creator of ”Bezalel”. [Jerusalem, 1920s of the 20th century]. Wool on a cotton base. Carpet in bright shades of red, mustard-yellow and green. In its center is the place of the temple; At the top of the arch are woven the words of the verse ”If I forget you, Jerusalem, forget my right hand”, and at the base of the window frame is woven the inscription ”The Place of the Temple”. Within the wide carpet frame are decorated cartouches with flowers in between; In the cartouches, the words of the verse repeat again, in appropriate and unusual letters: ”If I forget you, Jerusalem will forget my right hand, my tongue will stick to waiting if I do not remember me, if I do not bring Jerusalem to the head of my joy” (Psalms Kelez, 56). In the four corners of the frame are typical ”Bezalel” lamps. 63x42 cm. Good condition.
