Pair of pomegranates - Morocco - ”Sacred to the Lord” Pair of pomegranates (”apples”). [Morocco, first half of the 20th century]. Light metal and copper, sawn and welded. Massive pomegranates, impressive ”folk” work. Each pomegranate has five sides. On each side, sawn decorations in fixed patterns (from bottom to top): elongated circles or small horseshoe arches, a lattice, a large horseshoe arch, a square with a sawn inscription: ”Sacred to the Lord” (the inscription is divided between the five sides), a diagonal grid and a small rhombus. On the heads of the pomegranates are metal arches. Height: 38 cm. Fair condition. Chains missing. Decorations and breaks on the heads of the pomegranates. Corrosion and bends.
