Olive wood desk - Eretz Israel, 19th century The body of the desk consists of two parts: a writing box and a pencil case. The pencil case, which is intended for storing writing supplies - inkwell, quill, etc., is divided into compartments, and includes a locking mechanism (the key is missing). The writing box has a sloping lid that opens with two hinges to a writing surface with a green leather cover. The inner part of the writing surface lifts up, revealing a storage space for paperwork. On the back wall of the storage space there is a removable wooden panel, behind which are hidden two small drawers, also removable.
