Pair of silver ”pomegranates” - Aden, Yemen. Weight: 505 grams. Pair of Pomegranates. Eden, Yemen, early 20th century. Silver stamped and filigree. The body of the pomegranate, shaped like two pears, has a filigree lower sphere and a sphere above it decorated with hand-painted reliefs with geometric and floral designs. Rings with bells in the center. The upper part is a sphere decorated with the Tablets of the Covenant with the inscription of the Ten Commandments. The handles are inscribed: ”All these are the pomegranates, a gift from the estate of the woman of the Czech Republic, Hayat Asht Tarfon from the city of Kasabiodat.” Height: 33 cm. Fair-good condition. Old bends and repairs.
