Rare vintage brass plaque of the 1948 Israeli Declaration of Independence, made in New York. 1948 A brass plaque created in honor of the establishment of the State of Israel. The plaque was presented by the Israeli delegation in New York as a gift to American Jews who assisted Israel in the 1948 War of Independence. The plaque is in English, and is in the form of the Israeli Declaration of Independence. Signed at the bottom right with the maker's name. Designed by artist Saul Nodel. The declaration is surrounded by an illustrated frame depicting an Israeli soldier, an angel, and the city of Tel Aviv. At the top of the plaque is a portrait of Theodor Herzl. Mounted on pressed wood with a hook for hanging, good condition, size: 30*37 cm
