In the upper part, along the circumference, the inscription ”Commander of the National Military Organization, Prime Minister of Israel”. To the right of the portrait, a quote from his words ”After my death I hope to be remembered, above all, as someone who prevented a civil war” and his signature in Hebrew and English. To the left of the portrait, the years ”1913-1992”. Reverse of the medal: Star of David and a dove emerging from his two left ribs and breaking an iron chain. To the left of the Star of David, the quotation ”Freedom fighters are haters of war” and the name ”Menachem Begin”.
