A huge silver goblet. 18th century, engraved with a noble emblem on the surface of the goblet, signed. In the center of the goblet is an engraved coat of arms of a knight or noble family, including a shield divided into quarters (with elements such as a sun and a bird/swan), above which is a decorated helmet and a crest at the top. On both sides of the goblet is the letter M engraved (left and right), which probably represents the initials of the original owners of the goblet or of the family dynasty. The date in Roman numerals: at the bottom is the inscription MDCCLXVI, indicating the year 1766 (M=1000, D=500, CC=200, L=50, XVI=16). Height 10 cm, diameter 8 cm. Very good condition. Weight: 142 grams.
