A decorative 19th century French Jardinière for flower pots or table centerpiece, made of brass or bronze richly detailed in the Napoleon III style. The side handles of the vessel are decorated with winged cherub figures holding carrying rings. On the front of the vessel appears a complex relief of two mythological figures (genie or photo) holding a central jug or vase. The vessel stands on four massive legs designed as the feet of a predatory animal, the motif is taken from the world of mythology and classical nature. Inner lining (Liner): On the inside you can see the removable metal tub (usually made of zinc or tin), designed to protect the copper/bronze vessel from the water and soil of the plants. Very good condition, size: 38*56 cm, height: 29 cm
