A large, magnificent and antique stand for flower pots and planters consisting of two parts: an upper urn and a matching pedestal. The Art Nouveau style is associated with the famous ceramic works of the French artist family Massier from Vallauris, France, from the late 19th or early 20th century. The base of the column is decorated with three sculpted figures of mythological creatures (griffins or winged dragons). Type of glaze: The item is coated with a richly colored glossy ceramic glaze known in art as ”Dragon's Blood” or ”Oxblood” (Sang de Boeuf / Oxblood). This is a unique glazing technique in deep red-crimson tones with light and dark color veins that simulate the appearance of a gemstone or luxurious marble.
