La Terre Sainte (”The Holy Land”) by the renowned French explorer and geographer Victor Guérin. The book presents a detailed geographical, historical and archaeological description of the Land of Israel in the 19th century. Guérin traveled throughout the land, documenting its settlements, archaeological sites and the lives of its inhabitants at that time. The original, magnificent editions of this work were published in Paris between 1882–1884.
