The top (lid) of an ancient Islamic incense burner (or part of a Damascus hanging oil lamp), shaped like a mosque dome and made of inlaid brass. Decorated in the ”Damascus work” (Cairoware) technique – handmade work that includes engraving and inlaying silver and copper wires to create the decorations. The dome features medallions with Arabic calligraphy containing holy names and verses (such as the word ”Allah” – الله prominent on the left side). Dimensions: height 23 cm, diameter 14.5 cm.
