A Timurid Tinned-Copper Kashkul, Persia, 15th Century - A Timurid tinned-copper kashkul, Persia, 15th Century. This intricately decorated boat-shaped bowl features a small footed base and two stylized zoomorphic handles, crafted as dragon or mythical creature heads, each adorned with small turquoise-colored inlays for eyes and a scrolled element. The bowl's exterior is extensively embellished with a prominent band of elegant Arabic calligraphic inscription, possibly in a Thuluth or Kufic style, circling the rim, which appears to include benedictory phrases such as 'glory' (العز) and 'prosperity' (الاقبال). Below this, a dense foliate arabesque pattern covers the body, executed in a technique where the darker copper base metal is revealed beneath the lighter tinned surface. A distinct cartouche with Arabic script is visible on the underside of the base. L: Approximately 40cm
