A Chinese Blue Monochrome Glazed 'Fú' Character Water Pot or Brush Washer, Kangxi Mark - A Chinese blue monochrome glazed globular vessel, possibly a water pot or brush washer. The exterior features a circular white reserve on one side, enclosing the Chinese character 福 (Fú), which translates to ”Good fortune” or ”Happiness.” The interior lip is glazed white, contrasting with the unglazed, brownish internal base. The underside reveals a recessed base with a white glaze and an underglaze blue four-character mark, 康熙年製 (Kāngxī Nián Zhì), translating to ”Made in the Kangxi reign.” H: Approximately 4cm D: Approximately 8cm Provenance: Private collection based in West London.
