A Chinese Blue and White Porcelain Tea Bowl, Wanli Mark. - A Chinese blue and white porcelain tea bowl, bearing a four-character '萬曆年製' (Wanli nián zhì) mark to the base, indicating manufacture during the Wanli reign (1573-1620). The small, round bowl is executed in the classic blue and white underglaze style. Its exterior is decorated with a continuous scrolling floral or foliate vine pattern above a band of classic scrollwork on the footring. The interior features a double blue line rim and a central medallion containing the four blue characters. The material is white porcelain with vibrant cobalt blue decoration, and the unglazed footring reveals a light biscuit body.
